In a weird way, horror meme and internet urban legend Slender Man seems like one of the world's easiest genre movie pulls. After his 2009 "debut" on the SomethingAwful forums, he's garnered a pretty active, albeit niche, fanbase of internet residents who like their spooky photoshops and creepypasta stories on message boards and wikis. The premise itself is simple, too: a tall, faceless guy with a bunch of arms (sometimes) or tentacles (other times) who may or may not abduct children and who can "infect" people who think about him too hard. It's easy stuff, really, and low hanging fruit for anyone looking for a quick and easy monster movie.

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 17, 2018 and received generally unfavorable reviews from critics, with criticism on the plot, the editing, action, and dialogue, although critics praised the performance of Iko Uwais.

I’m mostly surprised Alpha got made. On one hand, it’s thoroughly conventional: a drama about a teenager who is separated from his family and, while finding his way home, learns to be a man, with the help and companionship of his dog. That’s basically the plot of a family-friendly Disney-style film, peppered with heartwarming moments of connection and growth and discovery. Predictably, it’s been marketed as such — a coming of age tale and an “incredible story of how mankind discovered man’s best friend,” as one official tagline puts it. This is a awesome movie

Nelson, the director of Kolamavu Kokila, says, “You can’t slot it in a single genre, it is a mix of crime, comedy and family drama. Nayanthara plays Kokila an introvert who is put in a difficult situation and how she reacts is what it is all about. Though she has done quite a few female-centric films, in CoCo, it is totally different in content and treatment.” The film also has Saranya Ponvannan, Yogi Babu and RS Shivaji playing key roles. Nayanthara starrer Kolamaavu Kokila has been creating quite some buzz with its unusual premise. Kolamaavu is slang for cocaine and the story revolves around Nayanthara who smuggles the same. This is a awesome movie everyone could try it once. Just not in home go to theatre and enjoy this family enterainer.
