What I love about this show is that it makes people think and challenges the paradigms we live though. I read a lot of reviews from 1 STAR to 5 STARs. I prefer to discard the extreme reviews because there is a lot of emotion packed into extremes. Extremes divide vs unite. No matter if you agree/disagree with the presentation, tactics, agenda, data or even study itself, this piece makes you think. That is the true value of it. I agree with most reviewers that there is a responsibility in presenting fact based content (backed by science-acquired in the right way). I also commend people that take action (with the right intentions) to learn more about the nature of choices and actions on this planet. As cancer survivor, I was shocked after my diagnosis of the way in which Western Medicine treated me. My Oncological Surgeon was a pure genius when it comes to understanding the nature of the cancer I had and how to surgically remove it from my body to prevent it from spreading. After a successful surgery and radiation, I asked about the cause of the cancer. The response, we do not know empirically what causes cancer. We know when you are diagnosed we can treat it. I was told not to worry about the cause because there are excellent treatments these days from surgery to chemo. I did not like this answer and asked if diet was something to consider. After much pushback about the science behind food as medicine, there was an acknowledgement that diet can help the body fight/prevent cancer (or some types). I asked what courses (as I already knew the answer) were studied regarding nutrition in med school-it was revealed that there was one course. After my successful Western treatment (which I am soo grateful for), I began to research cancer. This opened up the topic of food as medicine. While cancer is not controlled by food, food is a large contributor to our overall immune system. When reviewers talk about this study, they are correct in that it is limited. The money is available to properly study the effect that diet has on the body for heart disease, cancer, diabetes and more. The problem from my research lies in the money. There is no money in eating healthy. Not compared to what big pharma makes. I do hope that viewers use this production to dive deeper into well being. There is soo much emerging science coming forward (from underfunded groups trying to complete with government and pharma). I do suggest reading the China Study. This is the most comprehensive study done to date on the effects of diet-with emphasis on animal product consumption, to the body. I believe perfection (love) lies in the middle (where balance is). So a balanced diet is something to explore. A balanced diet varies from person to person and contains some common themes. I am not writing to convince anyone of anything specifically, I am writing to praise the show for its ability to generate meaningful conversations. There was a day when there was intense argument about Earth being flat or round. There was science at the time that argued it was flat. The point, be open to learning, keep a growth mindset. Stay loving!!! Be well
