There’s lots of realism in this film because teens can be shortsighted when it comes to the consequences of their actions. The bully has been humanized in this movie, which is a good thing. It’s important to get to know her and her family. The perpetrator and the victim had a history.
During the preteen and teen years, kids are most vulnerable to being humiliated and bullied. Depending on loving peers to make good decisions for a friend who is at risk doesn’t always work.
Tragically, even the most loving and attentive parents may be left out of the loop by their child and their child’s friends for lots of different reasons.
This was 90 minutes well spent. I would recommend this movie to parents of preteens and teens. I suggest previewing this movie before deciding if you want to watch and discuss this video as a family.
