Just watched this movie last night and it makes me so mad how accurate the detective's attitude towards Gerards character is literally how ALL cops are towards someone when their spouse goes missing. Why not interview the parents, or any other relative or even friends? Why waste all your time on one person when there are literally other possible suspects. To me everyone is a suspect when it comes to these situations. The other thing that confused me was when Gerard's character goes to his in-laws to tell them what happened and he's obviously upset and informs them before he leaves again that he has ALREADY called the cops and tells them to call her friends to see if anyone has heard from her. Then LITERALLY right as he walks out the door the FIL questions why they would call her friends and says HE is gonna call the cops like the husband didn't just say he already called them. And like I'm sorry but if my child went missing I'd be calling EVERYONE SHE KNOWS to see if they heard from her or seen her. Like what? And then the MIL responds with "He was acting weird" like MA'AM YOU'RE DAUGHTER IS MISSING, HIS WIFE, OF COURSE HE IS ACTING LIKE HE IS LOSING HIS ABSOLUTE MIND, WHY AREN'T YOU??? The last thing that really gets me though is after they see Knuckles talking to the wife and leading her to his car via the CCTV that Gerard basically had to fight the cashier for(although we don't actually see her get in the car but we knew she did at the time)the detective questions Gerard AFTER that for what it feels like eternity about anything and everything, like I get it, motive, but let's be honest here he wasted a lot of time, and then that SAME detective tells the parents about the CCTV footage AFTER questioning Gerard's character and says Knuckles is NOT a suspect even though she was last seen with him but yet dude spent like 20 minutes treating her husband like one even though he's not changed his narrative once. Like be fr. Good movie but like some of the characters are confusing.
