Ever since Dahmer came out, I have been waiting for more such series to come on screen. Menendez Brothers was where I started to empathize with criminals, however Ed Gein topped that list. Towards the end I had tears in my eyes, unable to understand why am I being so emotional. If I wasn't a fan of Charlie Hunnam before, I sure am now. The man has beautifully played his part. There were times when I just thought to myself, "I hope Charlie is alright after all that acting". The narration could have been better since there were times I would just scratch my head thinking, "wait, what?", only to realize later what was happening. The story is a deep dive into Ed Geins life and if you know his story, this just plays it all out. Yes, there are some differences to the actual story, but lets just say that's art. The series is gory and not really for the faint hearted. Again, Charlie has done such a splendid job that he deserves a standing ovation and all the awards that he can get. If you're wondering what to binge over this weekend, this one's for you. More people need to watch and understand how so many different aspects make one a criminal.

Honestly, when I first saw the trailer I wasn't really expecting much. It felt like something a rich kid with papa's money was doing to make use of his time. However, when I didn't have anything to watch on a Friday evening I thought, might as well watch this. For the first 10 minutes I thought this was going to be a cringe fest, but it took a turn for the better. Soon, it became entertaining. The concept is a mix of a lot of things. Towards the end you'll think, "yeh toh kahi dekha hai", and you're right if you have watched some of the prominent movies of that genre. The actors have all done a wonderful job. The dialogues aren't cringe, and neither is the acting. A lot of emotions and a lot of genuine acting. You kinda end up liking everyone for the role they have played. There's a lot of Easter eggs, references, all very cleverly put in that makes you giggle if you have been following Bollywood. Did I binge the entire thing in one sitting? I pretty much did because it keeps you hooked. The theme and the concept with which the entire show is carried, gives it a nice Bollywood mixed with gen z mode. Hence, if you're confused if you should watch this, just give it a try.

I was in two minds about whether I should go and watch Coolie after being sick all day. Now that I think about it, I should have canceled my ticket, saved half the money, gotten some more rest, and then maybe watched it when it comes on OTT. I wouldn't say I'm a Rajinikanth fan, but I do get the hype and the aura he brings to the screen. Jailer was a movie that emotionally made me appreciate Rajinikanth, hence Coolie raised my expectations. I wasn't disappointed because Rajinikanth did bring in his aura and charm. There were scenes that gave me goosebumps. Soubin is another reason to watch the movie. He's come a long way and he definitely deserves the credit as the villan. His character was more stronger than Nagarjuna, Aamir and Upendra. You seriously expect more from such strong characters when they stand in front of Rajini. Pooja Hedge'@ screen presence is just for that one song. Shruti Hasan's role was alright, but uncalled for. The story would have worked with or without her. Everything else was a letdown. The background music was average considering Anirudh is the composer. The fight scenes became quite mundane after a point, and I'm not sure why the movie was rated A. If you decide to watch this movie, go for Rajinikanth because he's done the work. Otherwise, wait for it to release on OTT, and I'm sure you'll be happy you didn't waste your money.

If you aren't one of those people who get lured in because of the good marketing a movie does, then what I am about to say is for you. Don't waste time, and book a ticket. When I first decided maybe I should watch Empuraan, I was a bit skeptical. Lucifer was good, not going to deny it. However, a sequel most of the times does fail when it comes out. This one held on strong. More than the acting, the bgm, or the storyline, what enthralled me was the direction. Prithviraj once again proved he's not just a good actor, but an amazing director. The way the scenes are shot and the story is captured is definitely the main reason why you need to go and watch it in the theaters. Each and every scene, and minute details captured have been planned and made to perfection. You need to pay a little extra attention to the detailing. The reason why I would give it just 4 stars is maybe for the story. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The story keeps getting dragged here and there and you wonder if this was really necessary. Mohanlal definitely captured the hearts of the audience to give us looks that produced goosebumps. A lot of exciting scenes for sure! You're not going to get bored and definitely something to catch up during the weekend.

Although skeptical at first since I am not too into documentaries that talk about weddings, after work I sat down to watch Nayantara : Beyond the Fairy Tale. I must say, it left me in tears and I wished I could see more. It truly is an inspiration for women to never settle and keep striving where you are independent and only marry for a partnership. If you're wondering what to do this weekend, I suggest you watch this one. It's heartwarming and beautiful to watch.

It's been a long time since I watched a really good animated movie, and I'm glad it was from DreamWorks. Movies like Inside Out 2 and The Boy and the Heron were released this year as well, but I must say The Wild Robot stood out to me. It evoked emotions for things I didn't know I had strong feelings about. The animation, from start to finish, is mesmerizing; you can't take your eyes off the screen. The attention to detail is clever and a treat for the eyes. The story is beautifully conveyed, simple yet effective, highlighting one of the most fundamental relationships that exist. The dialogue is relatable, and as an adult, you'll understand exactly what the characters are talking about. The chattering crowd fell silent and calm during the movie. It's a must-watch that soothes every part of your heart. You might get teary-eyed, like I did, or even bawl your eyes out. Initially, I was skeptical despite the beautiful trailer, worrying the story might not be strong enough. However, I was wrong. This is definitely a must-watch, especially for parents, children, and adults alike. Don't miss it on the big screen. I mean, I don't know why anybody would give it stars anything below than 5

I have to say, after watching Kishkindha Kaandam, I wondered if the movie was heading in that particular direction, and to a certain extent, it did. Since this is based on a book, I believe the movie could have been improved. With an unrealistically perfect husband and a slow-paced storyline, I felt drowsy at the beginning. This movie exemplifies the typical trend of contemporary films that start slowly but rush the plot towards the end. Focusing more on the antagonist's mental state and past could have made the movie more distinctive, especially given the prevalent discussions about mental health. Exploring how past experiences shape the future, a common trait among serial killers, could have been highlighted better. I must admit that the acting from all actors was commendable and deserving of applause, as they remained true to their characters and transitioned smoothly. This is definitely a one-time watch, and our crime enthusiasts will likely appreciate it. The movie engages your mind to a certain extent until you piece everything together before the grand reveal.

If there are people who didn't think the movie met their expectations, I feel sorry for them. After having watched numerous prison break movies from Hollywood, I think Bollywood has done a commendable job with Jigra. When your neighbors in the theater start discussing the movie during the interval instead of munching on popcorn, you know it has caught the audience's attention. I have to admit, they have done a pretty good job. The sibling relationship is emotional and heartbreaking, providing a much-needed break from the clichéd sacrificial romance. These days, whereas Bollywood often starts well but tends to lag towards the end, with the end goal being to finish the movie as soon as possible, Jigra takes its time to deliver good storytelling. Alia has delivered a phenomenal performance with her acting, alongside Vedang, which instills a sense of empowerment. Vivek Gomber, who plays the antagonist beautifully, evokes hatred for the character - a beautiful sight to behold. Jigra is a promising movie, and if you're looking for something good to watch during the weekend, you should give this one a try.

I binge-watched the entire series in one sitting, eager to discover what made it so special. Honestly, it exceeded my expectations. The show masterfully depicts a loving, understanding couple navigating their differences and taking things one step at a time. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, though - the characters' imperfections and struggles make their relationship relatable and authentic. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody deliver outstanding performances, making their characters impossible not to love. Even the more challenging personalities avoid being one-dimensional, mirroring real life where flaws and imperfections coexist. This show taught me that it often takes experiencing unhealthy relationships to appreciate what truly matters. When you know what you want, the pieces fall into place with a little effort. The show's realistic approach resonated deeply, leaving a lasting impression.

I entered the theater with sky-high expectations to watch Joker: Folie À Deux, fueled by my enthusiasm for the original. The opening scenes impressed, but my excitement was short-lived. The first song caught me off guard, and as the musical numbers piled up, my disappointment grew. The film's potential was squandered by Joker and Harley Quinn's random, jarring musical interludes. It felt like Lady Gaga's involvement had dictated an excessive soundtrack, disrupting the narrative's flow. Serious moments were consistently undercut by the audience's collective groan: "Not another song!" As a fan of Heath Ledger and Jared Leto's Joker portrayals, this film sadly tarnished Joaquin Phoenix's promising iteration. The ending, though plausible in an alternate universe, left the audience underwhelmed. Despite my disappointment, Joaquin's captivating performance remained the film's redeeming factor. Unfortunately, Lady Gaga failed to meet my lofty expectations, especially after Margot Robbie's iconic Harley Quinn." Is it worth watching in the theaters? Not really.
