The Staircase was a downward spiral of reasonable doubt, police corruption , misconceprion & emotional turmoil. I do not feel sorry for Michael Peterson, I suppose because when you use the term soulmate you don’t do what he did, it was so senseless & so sad. I feel sorry for Kathleen & the children, even though they’re older, her sisters too; regardless of he said/she said, they are the true victims, it tore them apart, & Peterson has an extraodinary family! I think Rudolf did an incredible job on the defense despite things that were said. I am however surprised that Deaver was beleived, his testimony /expertise was shoddy and thats being kind. Excellent documentary, this family went through hell & back!

I thought it was excellent, & my goodness at a time like this so prevalent. I suppose I do have biases when it comes to certain films because I look at who’s starring in it. I’m a major fan of Cillian Murphy to me he is probably one if not the finest actors we have today. His versatility never ceases to amaze me & I’ve been a fan of Jamie Bell’s ever since I saw him in Billy Elliott. Thandie Newton is ok I’ve seen her play a lot of similar characters however she was perfect for this role. I had seen the movie awhile back & needed to refresh my memory on the virus/ Bell’s character etc. You know whatever one’s preference is in movies & genre, when you have 3 actors, well 4 if you count the caretaker/owner ( that we saw maybe twice but very genuine & believable not like this creepy stereo types that you know you wouldn’t store your couch there never mind rent from them.) it was exceptional how they kept you engrossed well in my case. It goes to show you don’t need a huge budget, special effects & whatever else tends to put films over budget. Good actors, good direction, good & believable plot & you’ve got a winner!

This is probably one of my favourite Cillian Murphy movies to date, and I’ve seen most every film he’s made sans theatre much to my chagrin. He never disappoints, I only started getting really interested in his work after watching Peaky Blinders, I was dying to eee his other work. There’s so many good films ; Intermission another great one, it reminded me of growing up on a council Estate in Newcastle and everyone knowing everyone else and how we all were connected in someway, lived it. On The Edge brought it all home for me when he tried to take his own life, being very young and foolish I have been in a similar situation as his character, support groups bring it all back too, but I love his tough exterior in the beginning and how kind he was towards the end, I have a feeling that’s the real Mr Murphy, though he is a gem as Tommy Shelby, nobody could play him better than Cillian.

Excellent. Very unique storyline. The acting was very good although a couple of times it seemed like they were reading from a script & spoke in a rather monotone pitch; but because they were all unusual kids I found this to actually work in the film’s favor. The Dr was great, a Jack of All Traits, but he met his match. It’s hard to describe this movie because it has so many different components & when brought together it’s magic. All I can say is the protagonist honors people he cares about, he suffers no fools!

I enjoyed the film, it kept you on the edge of your seat without all the blood & gore of a lot of movies today, the acting was Stellar too. The only criticism I really have is where they went with it and I had a feeling when they disclosed his condition etc and also saw the pentagram drum type container in the spooky dungeon style basement that he was the devil himself ! I was hoping there was gonna be some kind of twist, as in Ely maybe was suffering from schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder & all the kids he was seeing were actually versions of himself, but that wasn’t the case however it was definitely scary!
