I expected better, because I was so disappointed by the last 3 or 4 Jurassic Park. However, a 5.7 rating? Wait a minute, that goes too far.
I like the lead actor and actress. Both are charismatic and have character. The relationship between the two is believable, but they didn't manage to create one that will make us cry, too bad. The urgency to act is present and we wonder if they will survive by the end of the film, but this could have been even better explored. The atmosphere of the darkness of this film is fine, but it should have been even darker. We are after all in the pure wilderness 65 million years ago... What I liked is that compared to the few lasts Jurassic Park, there are no dinosaurs that can become invisible or feathered raptors that can swim underwater at the speed of dolphins. On the other hand, these dinosaurs are more like semi-alien, semi-dinosaur creatures. A four-legged tyrannosaurus, for example, is disappointing. In spite of some length, the action is well present, but it lacks hardness. We don't feel any real misery that demands to power through their guts. In short, the film lacks emotional depth and the moral or philosophical aspect is not developed enough. It is rather a film that can be watched at least once, but not more.
