Had me on the edge of my seat cheering the whole way. A great thriller. With hindsight, some elements of the plot could be more convincing eg if slaves/sacrifice is the goal, why so much killing in the initial capture scene? I guess Mel is ultimately Hollywood. On the other hand, I really liked the deeper points about Mayan life and violence pre-European invasion, the Christ-like symbolism of Jaguar Paw and the pure adrenaline of the chase.
