Such a cool idea for a plot, and the absolutely brilliant Jack Black....and such a total disaster!!! Writing was appalling, acting (apart from Black) even more so, and I don't know if the 90s comedy style was intentional to get nostalgia points, but ...NO. even back then there wasn't quite so much cringe. If you can't make up your mind between fart humour and horrific family tragedy, better stay away from making films. You gotta have the intelligence of a tea spoon to appreciate this flick.
