Should be ashamed yourselves hyping up the Coalition’s dog-whistling about the recently released stateless refugees and assylum seekers. Firstly, they aren’t all convicted criminals. Those convicted of offences have served their sentences Their release is normal, prisons release people every day at the end of their term. Second, they were being detained illegally, under a policy initiated by Howard and maintained under Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison, then Judd and Gillard. The coalition had 10 years to fix the issue but did nothing. Now that the High Court has issued a ruling the current government had to comply with the law.
