cast was wonderful. cara and pips relationship was wonderful. now i understand adaptations always cut out things but they cut out so much personality and plot of the book. it felt flat and almost childish. pip is a very intelligent and obsessive baddie yet they nerfed her character. Same with ravi, becca, nat, but they did great with max hastings. idk you win some you lose some but i felt like we lost more than we won. id rate it a 2.5 if i could so mid.
just to continue, the depth wasn’t there all around. for example i love andi’s character throughout the book series however the show made her one sided and we lose a lot of the plot because of that. Stanley forbes wasn’t in it who plays a big part in becca and season 2. the show all together didn’t feel very high stakes and thrilling. little emotion which is not something i expected.
POSITIVES: Pip and cara’s relationship was beautiful. Max hastings was played phenomenally. Mr ward was also played wonderfully. I love emma she did the crying scenes soooo well. Pips family was great! They definitely followed the books plot which was nice. Ravi’s casting was great! soundtrack was almost good?? idk now im just trying to think of good things.
maybe i had high hopes idk take this with a grain of salt
