I know this show received a lot of hype over the years and it does have some great actors, but I honestly don't like it at all. I tried. I got as far as the Hotel season and then tried to watch the other seasons and I just couldn't do it anymore. The plots are unnecessarily convoluted and it was difficult for me to maintain interest in the plot or the characters. The handling of the LGBT characters was deplorable if I'm being perfectly honest; it was both unflattering and, at points, stereotypical and overall extremely negative. They were a lot of missed opportunities for the writers to take the plot in meaningful directions, and they simply failed to do so. I get that horror as a genre doesn't necessarily have to have deeper meaning and are often just violence for the sake of violence (which is what this show feels like at the end of the day), but if they're going to create such elaborate plots, I think they could work in a meaningful little takeaway here and there.
