In my opinion Treasure Planet is hands down Disney's most underrated movie of all time. The animation is incredible. Blending a 3d animated background and setting, with 2d animated characters. This movie extremely pleasing to watch. The worldbuilding is creative and awesome. Probably one of my favorite worlds out of anything I've watched. The story is engaging. The character's and the development of them is great (except the robot). Not to mention the banging soundtrack. This movie is kind of a tragedy because if you look into the marketing for it. The ads make the movie seem like a shallow goofy space adventure. There's a theory that Disney wanted this movie to fail so that they could fully switch to 3d animation. If it failed, they would have an excuse to shut down any 2d productions. So they poorly marketed it and it bombed.
