First of all this was beautiful! When and lei is my favorite couple. While you don’t learn much about wren it makes you want to read the next book to find out more. I also want to know more about lei’s eyes. The detail was incredible and I enjoyed it. I read the whole book in three days. The adventure was fun. I like the point of view and the plot. This isn’t done that often. It is fantasy but not childish. It is very serious and has good topics to talk about in modern times. Like lgbtq, rape, women oppression, and discrimination. Which is all important! I like how it doesn’t lightly touch the subject because these things are harsh for the people going through them. I like how the author didn’t automatically make the king the bad guy. At first I thought he was one of the good guys just like one of the girls in the castle.
