This is one of those movies I selected because I simply did not see anything else available. I figured I would watch the first 15-30 minutes and if it wasn't worth my time I would return the DVD the next day. I turned out to be very pleasantly surprised - it was a very good movie. If I had known the movie was this good, I would have checked it out sooner. Why it didn't do better is a mystery to me. Roger Ebert gave it a decent review and the director also directed "Training Day".
