What happened...?
I was so incredibly excited to see the movie, especially given the casting, but Iโve never been so wrong about a film before.
Having seen the 90โs version many times, this movie does not hold a candle to it.
It started almost at the end of the movie. I was so confused that I thought I blacked out for the entire film, but sadly that wasnโt the case. Not to mention how confused my husband was the entire time.
It goes downhill fairly quickly and I share the same sentiments with many reviewers here. The plot jumping left no room for character development, the ages of characters (especially Laurie and Amy) made it very challenging to view them young or as an adult, the characters acted like something you would expect to see in 2019 chick flick not a Civil War era time frame, when all characters were together it was just a muddy mess of running and fussing, and how could Jo love Fredrick when he had so little screen time...Iโm not joking, it was an abomination of his character. I donโt get it. How could the directing, screenplay and editing go so wrong?
I wouldnโt pay to see this movie and I certainly would never buy it.
