I loved it. This show deeply examines the long term consequences of living with pain and not dealing with it. It also examines loss - losing love, longevity, dignity, people - there were so many moments of realizations about life and death and everything in between weaved into the script. And as in real life nobody in this story is as perfect or as flawed as they seem, everyone has a past. Frankly something I liked about this show that sets it apart from others is that it doesn't try to force you to like or dislike characters, it simply shows you who these people are in a very raw form. If this show doesn't get a second season I think I would be fine with that because this whole first season really takes you places and it has a way of bringing things back around full circle.
