The beginning of the movie was promising, then it got really bad really quick. The character development wasn’t believable at all . . . Snake Eyes training with the super cool secret ninja organization consisted of him kindly asking for a bowl of water, then suddenly he knows how to fight with a katana? It’s even portrayed that he doesn’t know how to fight with one because at one point he asks, “how hard could it be?” Then at the end of the movie he’s fighting with one as if he has been his entire life. Also, it was totally super cool and not cheesy at all when they had them all do “hero poses” for a full ten seconds before the fight scenes started. Like, really? And what ever happened to Snake Eyes vow of silence? Guess that’s just not a thing anymore. Scarlet was a bad rip off of black widow and the ninja organization trainers were cool but criminally underused . . . Again, “may I please have your bowl of water?” Even when the fight scenes were somewhat cool, there was way too much shaky cam. The only reason I’m giving this two stars instead of one star is because there’s definitely worse movies out there but geez . . . There are so many things that went wrong with this movie.
