Do you like drama? In space!?
Get ready...
5 astronauts, best in the world, who have gone through extensive training together instantly turn on each other and descend into petty gossip and bickering the instant the mission starts. The ship malfunctions before they even head to mars but they keep going anyway! Surprise ensues when further malfunctions occur!
Texting! Emails! People reading texts/emails as they write them! People reading emails/texts as they receive them! People then cry after reading emails! Crying all over the ship from room to room! (pretty funny actually when a character is dehydrated and crying without tears)....
Very slow... lots of plot holes.
The science in this film is way off at times...
Why did they need the static for the ice?
Why didn't they just plug the hole that they drilled?
How was she dehydrated from watering a plant the size of a dandelion? Why was she watering the plant in the first place?
Why were they all so panicked over a case of mono acting like it was ebola or something? Do they, all of NASA, and the planet not know how mono is transmitted??
How come the doctor who spends 24hrs a day with his patients never spotted a single illness/condition... He literally had to be told everything..
The nonreligious person all of a sudden asks for prayers? Why? As an aside, this films falls into the trope like many others portraying the loss of religion as bad while depicting finding religion as good... (or finding god as having gained something while the opposite as losing something)
The russian guy lying about what happened from the first incident. Nothing ever comes of that. What was his reason? No explanation, it's swept under the rug.
Additionally, nothing happens. All the drama comes out of nowhere and feels contrived.
If you view this show as a comedy it might potentially have potential.
