An absolutely awesome classic 8 bit platformer game from back in the day. You can't think of the ZX Spectrum without also thinking of Manic Miner written by Matt Smith. 20 wonderfuly crafted and memorable levels of a game which has deservingly achieved legend status. This is one of the Retro big ones. Highly recommended!

Not great this. Have played it both on the Commodore Amiga and the ZX Spectrum. There are much better examples of platformer games on both systems. May please die-hard fans of the original cartoon series by Cosgrove Hall Films, but that's about it. The cartoon series is much much better than the games produced from it.

Fanatastic Gauntlet Clone. Instead of a fantasy swords and sorcey theme, we are instead plunged into World War II. Played this on the ZX Spectrum. Two difficulty modes where you must infiltrate an evil Nazi castle, rescue 3 prisoners, then blow all levels of the castle to smithereens. Wolfenstein was to come later of course in 3D, but it's 8 Bit games like this that set the firm foundations. Great stuff! ~ njenkin

Even for the era, this game is quite atrocious. Feels very much like a game you would type in and then delete shortly after when you needed the cassette space. If you owned it as a kid, there may be a bit of nostalgia there to fall back on, but if you didn't, then definitely one to avoid. The tie-in to BMX racing is fragile at best. ~ njenkin

Played this on the ZX Spectrum. Came pretty late in the ZX Spectrum's run and uses a very similar engine to the game Dan Dare III. Very colourful. The graphics for an 8 bit system are out of this world. The attention to detail is fantastic. There's a strong element of puzzle solving with this. The game is particularly tricky which does unfortunately let it down somewhat. You will not be completing this on your first go! ~ njenkin

Great piece of nostalgia from 1982. A text adventure game that I never really got that far with back in the day, but as a kid, it still left me with a sense of wondrous awe and adventure. Regarded as a classic and for the era, there wasn't really anything better. You had to be there really. Great memories. ~ njenkin
