Nothing resembling humor or satire...disappointing. Seemed like something a couple ninth graders would write and shoot on a weekend.

Beautifully told, written, acted, paced and researched. Loved it and will be widely recommending it to all my cinema loving friends as my favorite film so far this year!

Excellent! Fun! Original! This is a remarkable production with an ensemble cast, full of talent and surprises. This could have been so full of tropes and trite characters and instead, it’s the opposite. Oh and Harriet Walters...saved the best for last.

This film has aged well: it’s an absorbing caper with deep love for the multitude of A list actors giving each other just enough rope to get to the next scene.

Intensely focused and fully absorbing portrait of a young man frozen in the headlights of his oncoming future. We have all been overwhelmed when the parents push us one direction, the hormones in another, while our brain checks out and pretends that nothing is going on. But hey, we’re in LA’s Koreatown, so there’s this other whole world of spas to get you off that couch. Add in terrific actors and a director with a vision and we are ready to sweat this one out.

Gripping Agnieska Holland true tale of how a Welsh reporter risked all to expose Stalin’s 1932-33 starvation of millions of Ukrainian small farmers (aka peasants) who resisted collectivization. This was so compelling yet over so quickly I watched it again.

Interesting film especially Isabelle Huppert; also made me want to visit Sintra

Gripping drama with lots of humor, insight and a bit of history

I saw this film without knowing the parents of James Bulger had objected to it and that his mother said she was horrified his killers were shown sympathetically. The film shocked me but I was glad that it ensures James Bulger will not be forgotten, as it seems outside of England he has been. I did not find the presentation of the two young boys was sympathetic. Rather it seemed a dispassionate but perhaps accurate (if it relied on the police interview tapes) presentation of the mindset of two aimless, cruel, street-hardened shoplifters looking for a bigger game. Fagin would have drooled coming across these two. Poor James Bulger on that day and credits to the detectives who figured out from his injuries what had probably transpired. Credit to the parents who pushed their sons to tell the most painful truths anyone in those interview rooms would ever hear. I only wish the British trial system was more at ease with "no parole" sentences since these two should not rejoin society.
