The setting and the lore are interesting. The combat and movement systems feel fun and flashy. Unfortunately, to me, this is a terrible looter shooter as none of anything you pick up or are rewarded with feels interesting or rewarding. You may get rewarded with some neuroptics for a new suit. Pretty cool, right? Too bad you still need to collect the blue prints for the other pieces and the suit itself, not to mention all the materials required to craft it. This is the only "looter shooter" I know of where you can play the game for several hours in a session and make no discernible progress. I understand that this game is FTP and needs to monetize itself somehow, but it's so annoyingly invasive here. From the moment you start you're tempted to use the precious little platinum you have to get rid of arbitrary crafting timers on items you need. There's even crafting timers on some quest items. Everyone seems to lambaste developers for tying monetization to progression in their games but DE just gets a pass for some reason.
