I think they did a great job, making a movie that stands on it's own while at the same time being a continuation of the original; a big challenge and one that I think they met admirably. All the acting, excellent in my opinion. Everyone was in character at all times. Emily Blunt was, unquestionably, Mary Poppins. While I loved (and always love) all of the singing and dancing, the only drawback I could see is the lack of memorable songs, which the first edition had so many of. A sign of the times I'm afraid. A great family movie. Something all ages can appreciate.
