I wanted to like this show, having played the game, and in the process of reading the books when it came out, I was really excited. As the season went on I began to see how disjointed it was, and not well explained. There was less emphasis on Geralt and more so on Yennefer and Ciri. They put emphasis on action when it made no sense, and left out character and relationship building moments instead. The monster scenes were underwhelming due to poor CGI. Overall, I would not necessarily recommend the show. A once over might be fine, but be prepared to be disappointed. Especially if you are already a fan of the games and books.
