A subtle, slow burning, yet rewarding family drama. At moments it feels like a modern take on Chekhov; a large manor, unsettled characters yearning for another life, and layers of subtext throughout. Wonderfully written and directed, with impeccable performances from exceptionally talented leads, and nuanced performances from the supporting cast. Score is haunting, combined with beautiful yet uncomplicated cinematography and camera movements, that creates an unsettled environment these characters are living in.
