I wish I had seen it sooner. I am from Brooklyn and remember the Bowery. I had been there and seen people sleeping in doorways. I pain because it seems that all these men were once children and surely never aspired to this. It just seems that there could have been something better for them. Something cleaner and safer. It makes you think that families should try harder to reach out to troubled members. I appreciated how honest and truthful these men were about their most intimate feelings. Not much different from how the rest of us feel. They did not have the support of anyone. How sad.
