This book is absolutely delightful! I read it to my son when he was 8 years old as part of our homeschool History curriculum, and he loved it! Strongly based on the history of the area in the Underground Railroad era, the story is written well with interesting twists and turns, and real-life suspense. A three word phrase of exclamation, "_____ and _____!" pops up in a fun way throughout the book, to the very end. We had the pleasure of purchasing the book directly from Mr. Banner in person at a Civil War reenactment. A very special man.
