This is the finest example of what star fox can be in both gameplay and story. The story has depth and the characters dialogue shows their various strengths and differences and how they function like a family. The gameplay, having boots on the ground as well as quickly changing from arwing to landmaster is just mind blowing. This game was ahead of its time and really set a mold I wish they would have continued to follow. 😭

This game, though beforehand I feared it would be a treacherous afront to the series, was surprisingly delightful. The only complaint I really had throughout the game was the weakness that Samus showed through a lot of her emotional flashbacks. In my humble opinion, it just shattered the periless heroine that I had always loved. But the narration wasn't completely horrible. It paved the way for a super intense story I was pleasantly bewildered by at times. The team that took this in hand definitely cared about the series and I thought this was pleasant break from the perfectly done prime series. The action is intense and has a super satisfactory feel to it. The dodges feel amazing. The mounting enemies makes me wow everything and finishers are super dramatic and I just eat that stuff up. Actively always wondering what was next throughout the entirety. This is a wonderful dip into what the series could have been, though I still entirely prefer the prime experience.
