This is without a doubt my favorite franchise of all time, and The Hidden World was a perfect, emotional ending. I loved the story, the character development, the villain, the score—just everything about it. Speaking of the score (by John Powell the music god), it is AMAZING, and Jonsi's song in this one, Together from Afar (he also featured in "The Hidden World"), never fails to make me tear up. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS I thought Grimmel was a perfect villain and contrast to Hiccup, what with the story of him coming across a sleeping Night Fury and killing it, going on to kill all of the Night Furies, in contrast to Hiccup, who set Toothless free. I loved Hiccup's arc in this one and how it wrapped the series up perfectly. I was bawling in the cinema all the way from when Hiccup almost sacrificed himself to save Toothless all the way to the end (especially during the goodbye scene). HTTYD will forever be my favorite franchise, and Hiccup and Toothless will always claim a very special, very prominent place in my heart. Thank you, DreamWorks, Dean DeBlois, and everyone who made this movie and franchise possible.

I absolutely love this movie; HTTYD is my favorite franchise of all time. This is just as good as the original movie and if you liked HTTYD, you will like this! Obligatory praise given to John Powell and Jonsi for the score and the song "Where No One Goes." Absolutely amazing. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS Stoick's death has me bawling every single time I see it. His funeral is extremely moving and makes this movie very emotional. I also really like Valka's character. The trope of "parent(s) dead/absent from a very young age" is used a lot, but no better than here! Valka as a character is realistic, believable, and her relationship with Stoick is ADORABLE. "For the Dancing and the Dreaming" is AMAZING. I also loved Hiccup's arc here. Growing up is an extremely hard thing, and I can relate to Hiccup in that he tries to shy away from and deny it. Stoick's death abruptly forces him to immediately grow up and I like that (for the story of course, not for Hiccup's pain!). Amazing movie!

My absolute favorite movie and franchise of all time! This movie is absolutely underrated. I love Hiccup as a character; he's my favorite character of all time and I really need a friend like him (anyone? lol). I love his relationship with Stoick and how it's handled throughout the story. I also LOVE the score. Oh, that gorgeous score! John Powell is a musical genius and I CAN'T BELIEVE he didn't win an Oscar for this one! And of course a shoutout to Jonsi for "Sticks and Stones." SPOILERS (sort of?) SPOILERS (sort of?) SPOILERS (sort of?) Where HTTYD's story excels is in its use of "cliches." For example, the trope of "father wants son to be more like him and is disappointed in him" is used enough to be considered a cliche, but HTTYD uses it extremely well. I think the relationship between Hiccup and Astrid could have been handled a little better. Don't get me wrong, I love Hiccstrid, but in this movie it kind of felt like it came out of nowhere. I'm fine with Astrid accepting Hiccup as a friend and accepting dragons this quickly, but she despised Hiccup ten minutes ago; I don't think one dragon ride would get her interested in Hiccup romantically. (But what do I know; maybe she's just the kind of girl who's into dragon riders. I can't blame her for that!) Overall, though, this is my favorite movie and franchise ever. If you watch one more movie in your lifetime, let it be HTTYD. You won't regret it!

*SPOILERS* I liked it. Most of the CGI was astounding, especially the Zouwou (I think that's what it's called). Plot was a little slow, but the reveal at the end of Credence being a Dumbledore made me go "No...what? Woah!" and "Really?" at the same time. I felt the romantic subplots were tiresome and unnecessary, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
