It’s about fish that had a sad face, born that way, and all of his friends want him to smile despite his face just being naturally pouty. The book repeats a couple of pages like a chorus, which is boring to me. And then the fish becomes “happy” when it’s gets an unsolicited kiss from a pretty fish. What a weird message to have to try to explain to your child. There is a special note about consent on the first page. How is this a best seller? Yikes. Better books out there for sure.

Why is a recent former US president (Barack Obama) producing a fear mongering movie about the end of America?? How is that remotely OK - it provides legitimacy to this “end of the world” type movie and people are already scared and stressed. It’s a movie about Americans being under attack - there isn’t much description as to what is happening, the fear comes from watching the actors freak out/ react to the different events. I read a Reddit post about it and it helped explain some of the symbolism but that’s how abstract and ridiculous some of the themes are… that I literally had to go to Reddit. 1 star for the movie and 1 star for Obama.

I actually laughed out loud at several parts. I thought Channing was hilarious. There are several supporting characters as well that were great, funny and perfect additions to the story. The only slight criticism I have is how hard it is to look at the plastic surgery on Sandra’s face. I’m all for do what you want but her face doesn’t make any expression beyond pouting duck lips - I just cannot believe that has become the norm. It’s so odd looking that it’s hard to focus on the scene. Sorry, Sandra!! Overall, highly recommend. I loved it for the entertainment and laughs.

I had to stop after this line “I’m not turning a foreign woman in, not in Trump’s America”. This line was referring to a woman that had scammed several businesses and innocent people out of millions of dollars and this line was delivered after an episode depicting two women being stuck in Morocco facing jail time for an unpaid bill. It’s beyond annoying. This was one of many virtue signaling type lines delivered throughout the series that was unnecessary and at times jarring. I wouldn’t recommend this hot mess of a show.

I absolutely loved the Steve Martin version of this movie. That version is endearing, full of love and absolutely hilarious. This feels like a terrible knockoff. There is no build up to the father - daughter relationship and it seems more focused on the cultural differences and it seems more like a “Big Wedding” movie. On par with 2022, the movie is hyper focused on woke buzz words like “mansplaining”. The divorce focus was depressing and highlights the selfishness of each character. I loved the infusion of the Latin culture but overall extremely disappointing.

A HUGE SATC fan, and I couldn’t make it past the first episode. These women are bright, successful women living in NYC and because of old age (?) were made to seem ignorant. The writers have shoved every Buzzfeed article known to man into every scene to make sure the audience knows how with the times the show is and it comes out horribly cringey and divisive. The previous series was so beautifully progressive in a natural way. The old series was unfortunately lacking a diverse cast but like so many shows, have shoved so much “wokeness” into this new series to make up for that and it comes off extremely disingenuous. I’m just going to pretend this new show doesn’t exist.
