A huge city with ... a ton of locked doors. Storytelling is great, though. But yeah— not something you lose yourself in (as advertised). Walking down the street and seeing entire apartments, stores, alleyways and wanting to explore what’s inside and... too bad. Mostly every single door is locked and every building a facade.
And when some doors (do) become unlocked, it’s related to a quest line somebody is giving you. The people walking on the street are GTA fodder. There’s nothing organically compelling about exploring, e.g., Skyrim-esque people running up to you and asking for help— or stumbling upon a situation. Everything in Cyberpunk feels fed to you with an airplane spoon.
When you’re within 30m of some sort of content you get a phone call from a “fixer” who’s like, “by the way! I need you to go interact with this content 30m away from you. K thanks!”
