I enjoyed the show as a fan of Gabe. As a Scottish/American have to say Scotland history grossly incorrect. Scotland only under British rule from 1688 to present. Have own Prime Minister & Parliament since 1999 & 2nd Independence vote is coming. William Wallace was fighting for Robert the Bruce. Wallace was captured & executed 1305. 1306 Robert the Bruce crowned King of Scots. Fight continued. Declaration of Arbroath (Tartan Day), April 6, 1320. March 24, 1603 James VI King of Scots also succeeded Elizabeth I as her closest heir as King James I of England. 1707 Treaty of Union united the kingdoms. 1688 Stuarts removed from the throne for Protestant Hanovarian line. Failed Jacobite uprisings 1688-1746 to restore the Stuart Kings.
