I got up this morning remembering scenes from Meiyazhagan that I watched yesterday. Long time since movies have done this and that too a feel good movie. No twists, no anxieties, just to relax and let yourself into the movie. I have not been a fan of 96 but this movie I knew I would like right from the start right from the trailers. I am so grateful for having caught experience in theatre. For the two and half hours my mind was fully with the two people in the movie, traveling with them, walking those roads. Karthi was believable, real, naive. All the stories Karthi narrated kept me hooked. The jallikattu, the stories about our past, the history - Karthi kept it all live. The background score brought the scenes alive, it was such an immersive theatrical experience. Arvind Swamy was a surprise, without him only person who could have done this role would be Raghuvaran and I agree. There were also a lot of good laughs. Great story telling. The movie and the director have inspired me to take some time to reflect, recollect memories, reconnect with myself and my cousins, my family and also to write. For that I'm thankful.

So difficult to find an innocent movie these days...Ayalaan is one of a kind. No regrets watching the movie in theatre. Had second thoughts seeing some reviews that only kids would enjoy... but enjoyed the movie throughout! The movie has some good laugh out loud moments! Yogi babu, karunakaran's comedy, reactions were enjoyable. Proud to watch a Tamil movie portraying an alien, the alien's expressions...with Siddharth's voice really made it a delightful watch. ARR's bgm lifted the movie to a different level. The stunt sequences were engaging and enjoyable for adults and kids alike. A decent theatre watch that does not disappoint.

When was the last time you woke up remembering a movie you watched the night before? Pa.Ranjith yet again tells beautifully the stories of the oppressed in an empowering and mesmerizing way with the backdrop of sports here. The characters keep you hooked right from the start. So many and they all stand out in their own unique way. "Daddy" played by John Vijay as an Anglo Indian and supporting Kabilan (Aarya) in becoming a boxer all along. One notable scene where his wife asks him to talk some sense into Kabilan, he steps forward in a full stance thrilled about Kabilan's performance and encourages him to box! The dialogue exchanges with Kabilan's mom interlaced with English bits makes you want more. The wives of Kabilan and Vetri, the women in Ranjith's movies always speak their mind.No inhibitions anywhere. Pasupathy as the disciplined boxing coach, we get glimpses of his life as an activist, his life as a boxer. You find yourself waiting for him to come back when Kabilan goes down a dark path. Rose - the character is on the sidelines in the first few scenes. But once his backstory as the Dancing Rose is revealed what a performance! A must watch for any movie lover, so many things in one movie yet does not tire you out. Just enjoy the characters!
