That was pretty damn awful. I thought it'd have to be better than BVS and I was right but it was a close call. Seemed like the kind of lazy, jotted-down-on-a-napkin type plot that a nerd wanted to write graphic novels might do and then never elloborate on. "So what's the plot?" "Well here's going to be a alcoholic general, and a royal bodyguard, and a dual lightsaber wielding ninja that wears a pilgram hat...oh oh oh! And a prince that never wears a shirt even though everyone else is in lots of layers and clearly cold." "Ok so those are the characters, what's the plot?" "Oh I don't know...f*&#ing star wars or something. You heard about the shirtless prince right?" In the end there was no effort made for lore building or character development, the decions made lacked any realistic motivation and only served to add unnecessary plot and, any interesting fight seen or cinematography seemed derivative of other movies.

An homage to the campy, cliche but cult favourite fantasy movie, this did often feel like a work of fan fiction but the characters were detailed, the set prices fantastic and the show never took itself overly seriously making it a very fun watch. My biggest complaint is it could have stood to have slightly better pacing. Perhaps in season 2 if they add some lower stakes sub plots and give the characters an opportunity to grow outside the main quest, they'll have more nuisance.

Pretty on the nose parody of our response to climate change and fear of scientific evidence but it took me way too long to get it; nearly halfway through the film...there's some irony in that somewhere. The comedy wasn't great (except for Jonah Hill who nailed every line) but they point was good and well acted across the board. Very similar to Wag the Dog with a more modern theme.

Stoners should stop making movies and calling it artistic. Pretentious, poorly acted and about 30mins of plot dragged out into over two hours with scenes clearly made for the trailer that had literally no bearing on the plot but seem to be in his imagination as they'll be completely forgotten in the next scene (giants for example). It's as if Michael Bay took a valium: all imagination and no care towards character development or plot, just slow lumbering and loud scene after scene that have nothing to do with one another. The original poem had more meaning-not hyperbole. Spoilers: Spoilers: Spoilers: At the start of the movie we get introduced to Gawain as the young and boisterous Gawain, son of Morgana (not the case in the poem) who wants to prove himself. At a Christmas celebration his mother (with no explanation) summons the Green knight to challenge the knights of the round table to a beheading game. Specifically the Green Knight says whatever you do to me I will do to you in one years time but you'll have riches and fame in the mean time. There is no incentive for Gawain to kill him but he does anyway. Again a deviation from the poem that makes it worse. Instead of a spending time showing Gawain's year and further build his character, they opt for jumping straight into the journey to go find the Green Knight and accept his fate. What follows is about 1 and a half hours of irrelevant journey subplots that don't change him in any way until he reaches a house where the lord and lady (who looks exactly like his girlfriend for some reason) take him in somehow knowing him already. I wont break down the events in the house but again the characters seem to do things without any real motivation or emotion. They add a completely tangential sex act (probably for the trailers) for good measure and he's on his way to the Green Knight again. We then spend 10mins seeing his imagination of his life if he runs away before the axe is swung and the movie ends without an answer as to whether he dies or not. Read the poem, don't waste your time on this.
