This is not top-notch Trek (TNG, DS9 S3+, Voy S3+, STE S3+). Plots move too quickly to humanize those involved and are told in a convoluted, matter-of-fact style that seems too forced. Perhaps they will catch on and correct this in season 3 like the previous great Star Treks.
