I originally wrote a lengthy review of this film, maybe a bit heady and verbose. I think I can shorten that.
Wow. My eyes were wet for the last 30 minutes of this movie. My chest hurt and I kept glancing at the ceiling, cringing with no small amount of disdain and anger. God dropped a pencil indeed.
Extremely well done.

For fans of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre, like myself, I found this fun to watch. It was fairly well acted all-around, the mixture of elements drawn from other franchises was imaginative and it was pretty action-packed. I did find the dialogue lacking in some sequences throughout the film, but that didn't seem to terminally detract from the overall experience. I found this on Netflix during a bout with mild insomnia (my go-to remedy), but wound up watching the entire movie. It had texture, was visually engaging and not to be taken seriously. Watch it for THOSE reasons and you'll enjoy yourself. Disregard the 'critics' on this one.

The review from Empire is wrong.., original is not better. The original was cheesy and poorly acted (with the exception of Fred Gwynn). The creeps in this version give chills, the twist(s) are surprising and the production is smooth and slick. Not gonna win awards, but at a shorter run-time, worth the watch.
