At first reading it I thought oh someone going to win the Lottery tonight!! But it wasn't that at all...towards the ending I'm like WOW! They actually sacrifice someone from the village. I suppose the moral of the story is in order for things to stay as they are and continue to have good things in the village they have to repay it back somehow and to them sacrificing was it. But I guess it could've been something else like an animal but not a human. But the story was good I suppose I get why when she first published this story people were offended times were different than and such things couldn't be said. Ahhhh the Good old Days!!!
