A summary of Sylvester and the Magic Pebble:
A young child experimenting with magic finds himself trapped as boulder near his village. He remains sentient but cannot move or scream, no matter how desperately he wants to scream for help. He spends a year watching his family grieve from a distance; being unable to soothe his frantic distraught parents as they participate in search parties right in front of him. Missing child posters are strung up over town and the child is forced to stare at his former face prior to becoming trapped in his current existential prison. When his family decide to go out on a picnic together to try and reconnect and find closure, they unintentionally use magic to summon their son back to them. They rejoice and live happily ever after.
Also, they are donkeys.
