Visually stunning, well acted, pretty close to the source material. If your a fan of dune you won't be disappointed.

This movie is ruined by, racist stereo types with examples including but not limited to: nagging parents, cultural disassociation, superstition, ancestor worship. It's also daged by the promotion of wu-shu nonsense and even worse validates it is possible or real at least in the marvel universe. I feel like a lot of the scenes were supposed to be an homage to Hong Kong Cinema but they were really more of like a mockery. The plot made no sense and the entire time it sets up a villain that doesn't pay off and instead defaults to some horrific demon monster from beyond that's totally not explained and no one should have to worry about ever again apparently. But that's just par for the course because it also doesn't explain magical place in which the story happens, it doesn't explain where the rings came from, it doesn't explain really anything properly. It's just not a great movie. It's too bad because the cast was great and I feel like they could have done justice as to a better film.
