I've watched this movie three times and I absolutely love it even though it frustrates me. I think its an amazing story, beautifully filmed and written. But i feel sad for all the people who cared about him, his family, friends..people he met along his way. His quest was a bit selfish, but I understand it was his destiny to explore. I guess I just don't agree with how he did it. I do feel I've gained something from it though. Stepping away and out of what is comfortable is important for growth. Adventures that seem dangerous are worth taking. Periods of isolation may be necessary. Travel to beautiful places and see the world, but don't be reckless with the people in your life. He could have been more forgiving of his family, and maybe more conscious of what his life meant to those who cared about him.
