This is a great book! It isn't easy to read, partly because much of it is written in the Jamaican patois, which for me was fun, but it did slow things down. Also, because I wasn't familiar with the history of the shooting of Bob Marley (referred to as The Singer in the book,) or the political situation in Jamaica at the time, it was a little confusing, though it all came together at the end. It is written in many voices, each chapter's title tells who is speaking. The gang violence is pretty severe - not for the faint of heart! Having just finished it, it's on my mind a lot, and I really did enjoy it over all. For someone looking for a sort of light mystery, this isn't it. You have to pay attention all the time or you won't know what's going on later, but I think it's excellently written and the characters, though not always sympathetic, are very interesting!
