Reality at it's best. The Romans were masters of punishment and death, and carried it out to the fullest on Jesus Christ.
The brutality was difficult to watch. But that is what history tells us about the Romans.
Through all of that, he still preached love and compassion, and forgiveness, especially to those who were killing him.
It's remarkable that he was able to do this, as a human being. I doubt any other person on earth could have gone through that, without saying a word to his executioners.
Of course, if he was God and sent by his Father, as I believe,
it is understandable and believable!
