I really wanted so much to like this but 10 minutes in and I can already see the tone is way off. A lot of telling when they could easily be showing - why would you try to explain Daemons in one sentence? Just show them and introduce things about them gradually. Possibly one of the reasons in casting a major star like James Mcavoy in what is supposed to be an important but ultimately minor role. His role here doesn’t seem minor and it hurts the story.
