I started watching this show because I loved the original series so much. The best part of it for me was the romantic relationship between Max and Liz and how they changed over the course of the show because of it. This version seems to be going a different way especially after tonight's episode. That was the raison d'etre of the show. Right now I am not seeing anything that is a sufficient replacement in the story line So I am going to give it a pass for a while and check in here and there and see if that changes. If it does I will start watching it again.
I also agree with the other reviewers. The story lacks cohesion in some areas and there are some very political topics that come up. But I do think it is relevant to the paranoia about "aliens" in the story (and today's society).
I love the casting choices. I do miss the Micheal/Maria relationship from the first series. However this Maria is much less irritating. I actually enjoy the character. I hope the Michael/Alex interactions are just as good. The jury is still out on that.
