So I finally watched this movie After seeing it get so much praise. However I still went in with no expectations or any idea what the movie was about. To sum it up, it is a movie that is all style and no substance. The movie is unbearably boring due to its slow pace that never picks up. Nothing happens the first hour and twenty minutes. The writing and acting are very very bland. Its a basic cult movie that we’ve seen hundreds of times but this one is done poorly. The characters lack depth and common sense. You can figure out the movie and where it’s gonna go once they reach the cult. The story is so convoluted and not in a good way. Many things happen that don’t push the story forward. Don’t ask questions either because they won’t get answered. Overall the movie was a snooze fest and don’t recommend it. I wouldn’t say it’s bad movie but it definitely is not good and does not deserve the praise it’s getting. Only reason I’m giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is for the prosthetics, color palette and visuals. The movie is gorgeous to look at, unfortunately that’s the only compliment I can give it. Midsommar? More like Midbummer cause YAWN
