The Blessed Virgin Mary is a subject that offers just so much for people with or without faith. Miri Rubin's intricate research is almost beyond words. Exploring, from Mary in the 3rd to 4th century, up to the present day over so many cultures and languages was a huge ask yet Professor Rubin has covered it perfectly and this will be a reference book for many decades to come. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend this book highly.
