The familiar sarcasm and facetious remarks brought me back to the Maltese Falcon. Clive was on cue. I missed though how Sam Spade used his psychological dark ‘shadow’ to manipulate in order to do good. Mrs Dell pointed this trait but never saw it once in the TV series. Even the familiar vernacular would have been nice. I didn’t find Monsieur Spade as the main character and adding the emphysema emasculated the virile detective that Bogey so brilliantly played. If there is a season 2, bring back the detective to solve a mystery and not uncover or contemplate the psyche. If a second language comes into play, slow it down. I found it very difficult to follow the fast speaking French characters.

Nice renos. Worst acting/scripting. I cringe every time Scott talks.
