Pagglait is an extremely layered story of coming of age of a young widow stuck in a complicated social situation. In the lead is Sania Malhotra who deals with array of iron clad patriarchal narrative surrounding around the death of her husband within just 13 days, including his ex-girlfriend. Story is finely scripted as despite it having ample scope and possibilities of melodrama it actually brings out feminine perspective in an extremely subtle and beautiful way. Generation shift, related cultural confusion & hypocrisy, love in variety of hues, sibling tension has been finely woven in the beautiful story of Pagglait told around the young widow. It's not exactly like Queen but definitely cut from the same yarn and that's what it makes an interesting watch. Must watch. It's on Netflix.

Its a classic tale of human pathos. ... would be landmark in the Indian cinema. From frame one....Amitabh Bachhan reminds why he's the greatest Indian cinema has produced so far. Impeccable, mesmerizing, comical and yet heart rending performance....at the end, both tears would roll and lips twitch with smile. And its not just the big B which steals the show, other characters hold their ground and match up to his towering delivery as a greedy octogenarian who is determined to ditch his wife and sell a haveli in her name. Soojit sarkar is on his way to become next Satyajit Ray. Bravo, you rock!!
