The final scene ends with the main female protagonist listing descriptions of how earth used to be before the invasion. It felt like she would never end. It was like a school essay in which the pupil has to reach a 1000 words and just starts listing things to make up the numbers. As she was describing various mountains I just started laughing at how appalling this series had been. A real shame as I like many am dying to see a moving picture version to match Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds. The period design, music and execution of the Martians were excellent, just let down by the script. A dreary affair.
