My favorite spinoff! I hope theres more titles to come; this is a remake of an earlier game, but with some changes. I like that all camp members level-up, so I can try out different pokemon without having to fully commit to leveling them. Also, being able to change leaders early on is game-changing.
I do miss basic attack, but it cant be all easier changes or else we have sword and shield again: a pretty movie. It's just a challange, and I've simply learned to bring pp restorers, and use them well.
If you haven't played a mystery dungeon game, I highly recommend it. Still turn-based, but each 'step' (dungeons have 'tiles') counts as a turn too. I believe every pokemon (within their chosen generation, ii? III? not sure...), and almost every move, has been included and many moves reworked to allow for differing strategies from the main games.
Abilities are included, but stats are simplified (no ivs, more candy/buffing based). New 'rare qualities' make it fun to find or roll the perfect pokemon instead. You play as a (human turned into a) pokemon, the storyline is both cute and compelling, pre and post game both have some faster-moving elements and also some grinding.
I think there's even a free demo available, where you can start the first few dungeons, and transfer data to the full game if you like it. I definitely recommend.
